Rent My Wedding has developed an innovative new gobo production process which provides flawless, professional quality monogram projections. Our unique new gobos offer significant advantages over other types of gobos. First, Rent My Wedding gobos provide the same crisp, clear image as a steel gobo, but eliminate the stencil look that results from the steel manufacturing process. (See the photos below). Additionally, the Rent My Wedding gobo process allows for more intricate designs than with steel gobos. Second, Rent My Wedding gobos eliminate the "halo effect" or fuzzyness that results from transparency film gobos printed with standard inkjet or laser printers. Lastly, our gobos are produced in-house, which allows for quicker turnaround times and ensures that you are paying the lowest possible price since there is no middle man!
OTHER TYPES OF GOBOS
Steel Gobo
Steel has long been the material of choice for producing professional-looking gobos. Steel gobos have a design cut into a thin steel disc. The light shines through the cut out portions of the gobo. The benefits are that the steel gobo will give you a perfectly clear image with no imperfections. The downside is that custom steel gobos are costly, and designs are limited. Additionally, due to the manufacturing process, steel gobos require "bridging" points which result in a stencil type look on some letters.Transparency Gobo
Transparency gobos are a relatively new type of gobo. A transparency gobo is printed on transparency film with an inkjet or laser printer. The print is done in black ink with clear graphics/text. This allows the projector light to shine through the transparency, creating the gobo design. Transparency gobos are mainly used by do-it-yourselfers, although many DJs and other professionals are now using transparency gobos. Transparency gobos are the most affordable option.
