The idea for RENT MY WEDDING was sparked in 2011 while planning my own wedding. I was frustrated that everything with the word "wedding" seemed to come with a higher price tag. I also wanted the convenience of online shopping, but couldn't find anyone offering online decor rentals. So, I decided to just buy all of my own wedding decor, and recoup my costs by lending out the items to others.
After posting a few classified ads, I received overwhelming interest from couples all around the country. I started shipping out the products, and the couples shipped them back after their weddings. It turns out that people loved the concept of getting rentals shipped to them! Soon I had to purchase even more products to keep up with the demand from my classified ads. This led me to start the website, which I simply called "RENT MY WEDDING."
In the early days I shipped everything myself. But, it reached a point where my apartment became filled to the ceiling with products, and my landlord banned me from having so many packages delivered and picked up at the building. This was the push I needed to turn my side project into a full-time business. So, I left my career as an attorney, leased a warehouse, and the rest is history! I'm thankful that the business has since grown to become the largest online event rental company in the U.S.
So, it turns out that my wedding has led me to not just one, but two great loves! I have truly found my passion in helping others create the event of their dreams. Thank you for checking out our website, and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you!
